An online store with product photos taken at different times, in different locations, with different lighting, has a problem that shows up before a customer reads a single word of the description: the catalog looks unprofessional, even when each individual photo is technically fine.

Committing to a single consistent setup, pure white for standard catalog images or one neutral tone for a warmer aesthetic, and using it for every product going forward creates immediate visual coherence. This does not require expensive equipment. It requires discipline: the same backdrop, the same light position, the same camera distance, every single time.

A consistent background does more than look tidy. Reshooting an entire catalog at once is not always necessary. Prioritizing best-sellers and newest arrivals first, then working through the rest of the catalog over time against the new standard setup, closes the gap without requiring a single massive session.
